An off-duty male employee of Chix boutique at the 1400 block of East Southlake Boulevard pulled a knife on a female employee during an argument about 3 p.m. Sunday, police said.

When he demanded that she close a door in the back room, she ran from the boutique to a restaurant next door. Restaurant customers said the woman was distressed.

About an hour later, North Richland Hills police found the man at his apartment in the 7700 block of College Circle. He was taken to JPS for mental evaluation. Southlake police officials said he is expected to be charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Police declined to release his name.
