GRAND PRAIRIE -- Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 31-year-old man in connection with the fatal shooting Sunday night of a taxi driver.

The suspect was identified as Eric Christopher Hodges, Detective John Brimmer, a Grand Prairie police spokesman, said Monday afternoon. Lois Jean Ivory, 53, of DeSoto was found shot to death inside a cab Sunday night in a residential area of Grand Prairie, police said.

The woman "suffered at least one gunshot wound," Brimmer earlier said in a release.

Police were summoned at 9:08 p.m. to the cab that was found in the 100 block of West Dorris Drive, Brimmer said.

The location is near the intersection of Dorris and Tompkins Drive, west of Mountain Creek Lake.

Ivory was the driver of the cab, Brimmer said, but he declined to release any more about the case, "due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation."
