Lt. Vernon Hale, a Dallas police spokesman, said the wreck occurred at about 3 p.m. when a cement truck traveling south on Texas 183 swerved to avoid a vehicle. The truck hit the median wall and flipped into the northbound lanes.
The truck hit a motorcyclist and landed on the sport utility vehicle, killing the driver, who was identified as 41-year-old Maria Angelica Gamez by the Dallas County medical examiner's office. A 5-year-old child was also in the SUV, Hale said.
