IRVING -- The Cowboys were able to breathe a sigh of relief on Friday when magnetic resonance imaging results on linebacker DeMarcus Ware and running back Marion Barber came back both came back negative.
Ware left yesterday’s 34-9 Thanksgiving Day blowout victory against the Seahawks in the third quarter with a hyper extended left knee. An MRI test today revealed no ligament damage.
Barber also left the game in the third quarter after dislocating his right little toe. An MRI today revealed no fracture.
According to the Cowboys, both players will receive treatment throughout the weekend, and both will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis next week.
There is a good chance both will be in the lineup when the Cowboys return to action against the Steelers Dec. 7 to begin their all important December push to the playoffs.
Ware said after the game Thursday that there was no question about him playing against the Steelers.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was always confident about Ware because of his ability to walk without pain after the game. Regarding Barber, Jones said its just a matter of finding something that makes him comfortable with that dislocated fifth toe.
