"Non human" are what officials have declared about remains found late Tuesday by a woman walking her dog behind a restaurant in the 3800 block of Northeast Loop 820.

The woman found the fetus after her dog "went into some brush" behind the restaurant, said Lt. Paul Henderson, police spokesman, in a news release.

Police were summoned to the scene, along with staffers with the Tarrant County medical examiner's office, Henderson said.

"First reports indicated that it was possibly a human fetus," Henderson said.

He added, however, the medical examiner's personnel were unable to "determine its origin."

Later Wednesday morning, however, the medical examiner's office declared on its Web site that the remains did not belong to a human. The exact species, however, was not specified.
