No. 3 Xavier vs. No. 7 West Virginia
6:10 tonight, US Airways Center
Records: Xavier 29-6, West Virginia 26-10
What to watch: The Musketeers bring a balanced attack into the game, with five players averaging double figures but none more than Josh Duncan’s 12.1 points a game. The Mountaineers, in the Sweet 16 for the third time in four years, are balanced, too. Standout forward Joe Alexander scored 22 points against Duke while Alex Ruoff had 21 against Arizona.
No. 1 UCLA vs. No. 12 Western Kentucky
approx. 8:45 tonight, US Airways Center
Records: UCLA 33-3, Western Kentucky 29-6
What to watch: The top-seeded Bruins escaped a second-round upset against Texas A&M but come into the game hobbling. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute is still hobbled by a sprained right ankle and forward Josh Shipp has been slowed by strep throat. The Hilltoppers, who are in the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1993, are led by Courtney Lee. The 6-foot-5 guard is averaging 22 points in the tournament.
