Softball
Cleburne in control. To stay in striking distance of favorite Aledo (17-1, 4-0 in District 8-4A), Cleburne is going to have to win the games it’s supposed to and do well in the head-to-head with the Ladycats. That’s been the case so far, though the Lady Yellow Jackets have yet to face Aledo. Cleburne (10-8, 4-0) has dominated district foes thus far with three shutouts, two double-digit scoring games and a close 1-0 victory over Joshua. Cleburne should always go into every game with a chance if Katie Cowan is on the mound. Cowan (8-5) struck out six and allowed four hits to earn the win against Joshua. Jessie Richardson (2-3, 1-0) is another option on the mound. The Lady Yellow Jackets will tune up for their March 25 game against Aledo with a March 18 date at Mineral Wells and then a home game against Crowley (7-9, 3-1) on March 21.
