NEW YORK — Houston Dynamo forward Kei Kamara and FC Dallas midfielder Pablo Ricchetti will each miss two games after receiving a red card last week.
Both were suspended an additional game and fined an extra $250 by the Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee today, doubling the automatic suspension and fine for the red cards.
Kamara struck San Jose Earthquakes defender Nick Garcia with his elbow in their game last Wednesday. He sat out the Dynamo's game against the Los Angeles Galaxy last weekend and will miss their regular-season finale Saturday.
Ricchetti received the red card for a challenge on Real Salt Lake player Will Johnson on Saturday. He was then involved in a physical confrontation with Ian Joy, which resulted in the additional punishment. Ricchetti will miss FC Dallas' regular-season finale against Los Angeles on Sunday and the first game of the 2009 regular season.
