Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers sat out practice on Wednesday and will likely rest his injured foot until Friday, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Starting left tackle Chad Clifton was a full participant in practice after missing four of the last five games with an ankle injury.

Rodgers was also limited in practice last week but played exceptionally well in the Packers' 38-26 loss to the Vikings.

"He did not participate today [in practice]," McCarthy said. "With the foot sprain and the toe sprain, we want to give him as much time as we can to let it settle down...I fully anticipate him playing [Sunday]."

Green Bay travels to Tampa Bay in Week 9 for a battle with the Buccaneers.

Wide receiver Donald Driver (neck) and cornerback Charles Woodson (hip) were also among those that sat out practice on Wednesday.
