Mild weather forecast in Texas on Tuesday

Mild fall weather was forecast across Texas on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

In northern Texas, skies were expected to be mostly sunny and clear. Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the 50s were expected around Dallas and Fort Worth with gentle winds between 5 and 10 mph possible.

In the Panhandle, areas of fog were possible before 9 a.m. in Amarillo. Skies should be partly sunny afterward with highs near 70 and overnight lows in the mid-40s around.

In central Texas, skies could be mostly sunny and clear with highs near 80 and overnight lows in the mid-50s around Austin and San Antonio.

Temperatures could reach a high near 80 along the Gulf Coast and a low near 60. Winds could blow in from the north between 10 and 15 mph around Houston under mostly sunny skies.

Areas of western Texas were expected to have patchy fog before 9 a.m. Forecasters say the fog was possible around Midland and Odessa, but sunshine should return afterward. Highs in the mid- to lower 70s were possible there and around El Paso with overnight lows in the 40s throughout.
