Amount spent on Cowboys stadium surpasses $500 million
More than half a billion dollars has now been spent on the new Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington.According to a report by the city, $534,481,625.44 has been spent on labor, materials and land.Manhattan Construction, the general contractor, has received $373 million, the most money of any firm working on the stadium. The firm then pays subcontractors to perform most of the work; those subcontractors are not listed on the city's financial report.Workers continue to add roofing material to the north and south sides of the stadium. Catwalks are being installed just under the roof so when the stadium opens in 2009, workers will be able to reach lighting and sound systems, construction manager Jack Hill said.About 40 percent of the glass exterior has been installed and survived last week's hailstorm intact, Hill said.Top five firms paid
