Stadium project is burning through $1 million each day

ARLINGTON -- The new Cowboys stadium is about 40 percent complete, and crews are spending nearly $1 million a day to build the team's new home, construction manager Jack Hill said.

The project began in April 2006 and is expected to be ready in time for the 2009 football season. The total cost will be more than $1 billion.

On Thursday, workers installed brace trusses to connect the south arch to the concrete structure.

They are also moving shoring towers from the completed south arch to the north side of the stadium to support the north arch.

Hill said the north-side arch should be completed in April.
