Pacman Jones will return punts against Pittsburgh Steelers

IRVING -- Dallas Cowboys Cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones returns Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers after serving a six-game suspension.

Wade Phillips is thrusting Jones back into a vital role. He will return punts and play in defensive sub-packages. Jones has not played in a game since Oct. 12 at Arizona, but Phillips said he returned in good shape.

The timing of Jones’ return helps the Cowboys considering the hamstring injury to rookie cornerback Mike Jenkins. Jenkins is expected to miss his second consecutive game.

Despite averaging just 5 yards per punt with a long of 18 yards before his suspension, Phillips believes Jones will provide a spark. Patrick Crayton replaced Jones and averaged 9.9 yards with a long of 33 yards.

“He made the first guy miss almost every time,” Phillips said of Jones. “That was what was impressive. You always say one more guy, one more block, but he was real close to going all the way several times. I think he’ll be exciting there.”
