Man gets life in prison for ’08 killing
DENTON — A 21-year-old man convicted in the 2008 killing of a customer at a Dallas smoke shop has been sentenced to life in prison. Arsenio Desmond Petty was convicted Wednesday of capital murder in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Rabeca Rae Kemp during what police say was a botched robbery attempt Dec. 30. Three other people were hurt. Denton County prosecutors did not seek the death penalty against Petty. A second defendant, 24-year-old Maurice Antione Hall of Allen, awaits trial on a capital murder charge. — The Associated PressRead more
