Deadline approaching

The deadline for aspiring opinion writers to apply for the 2010 Star- Telegram Community Columnist Panel is rapidly approaching.

Writers who want to share their viewpoints are invited to send a sample column of about 600 words on a local issue to Editorial Director J.R. Labbe at jrlabbe@star-telegram.com. (Digital submissions preferred, but typed samples may be mailed to CCP c/o J.R. Labbe, Star-Telegram, P.O. Box 1870, Fort Worth, TX 76101)

Please include general biographical information about yourself: where you live, education and work experience, political philosophy, family members, interests and hobbies. We’re looking for writers who represent the wonderful diversity of our readership.

Applicants must live or work in the Star-Telegram circulation area.

Any further questions? Call Labbe at 817-390-7599 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The deadline to apply is midnight Sunday, Nov. 15.
