Cheers: To Leslie Wooldridge and the JPS volunteers with Cowtown Brush-Up. They painted my house, pulled weeds, trimmed bushes and made me feel very special. They are really a nice group of people.

— Sarah Stevens, Fort Worth

Cheers: To Derek Bennett, who recommended Bobby at City Garage in Colleyville when I had an almost flat tire. Cheers to Bobby for fixing my tire, checking the others including the spare and sending me on my way in less than an hour — without accepting payment even though I offered several times.

— Rhonda Carlton, Keller

Cheers: To the deacons and their wives at River Oaks Baptist Church for the recent luncheon they prepared and served to the widows and widowers of the church. Cheers to the ladies who serve as volunteers at River Oaks Community Center. They keep things in good order and are so kind to all.

— Mildred Cole, River Oaks

Jeers: To the publishing company that sends you a package containing books stating Contents Free then bills you later. Also, they don’t send a copy of the order if you request it. I did not place an order for them.

— Delphi J. Cornali, Southlake

Jeers: To the insurance company that deducted money from my checking account without my permission. I had previously had automatic draft but had asked the office personnel to put a stop on it, which they neglected to do.

— Mary Wallace, Grand Prairie

Cheers: To Mike and Monica of A Beautiful Shade of Blue. When our pool pump was failing, they spent hours trying to repair it. When not possible, they installed a new pump for a reasonable price.

— Laurel and John Wilson, Arlington

Cheers: To the small businesses that provided food for the volunteers at Fort Worth’s seventh annual Jazz By The Boulevard arts and music festival. Thanks to Chipotle Mexican Grill, Great Outdoors Sub Shop, Mama’s Pizza, Montgomery Street Cafe, Jazz Cafe, The Lunch Box, Tommy’s Hamburger Grill and Wilson’s Barbecue.

— Pamela Atchison, Fort Worth

Cheers: To Paul Olson, owner of Paul’s Auto A/C Service in Burleson, for outstanding service, an unexpected discount and good advice when servicing my MDX. He looked it over on Sunday so he could repair it and have it back to me on Monday before he went on vacation.

— Gina Bewley, Burleson

Cheers: To Jennifer Floyd Engel for her article on the coverage of the opening of JerryWorld and how Tarrant County, particularly Arlington, should get credit for the location of the stadium, not Dallas.

— Kevin Scott, North Richland Hills

Cheers: To the gentleman from the Pigskin Payday contest who called with the information that I had inadvertently included a personal check with my contest entry. Many thanks for your honesty and integrity and for promptly returning it to me. You are greatly appreciated.

— Ben Rathgeber, Cleburne

Cheers: To Joey Richardson, a sales consultant at Freeman Toyota. Not only should he be commended for his expertise in selling vehicles but also for his respect and courtesy toward senior citizens. His follow-up exceeded all expectations — he even made a trip to our home to check out a battery.
