Man drowns after driving into lake

GRAND PRAIRIE — An elderly man drowned after he accidentally drove his vehicle into Joe Pool Lake, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s Web site Sunday. The victim, identified as Gene Ferguson, 77, of Arlington, died at an Arlington hospital, the Web site states. He was pronounced dead at 9:30 p.m. Saturday. His death was ruled an accident. Authorities responded to a vehicle in the water in the 5700 block of Lake Ridge Parkway at Joe Pool Lake. Police could not be reached Sunday for additional details. — Domingo Ramirez Jr. Read more
