GrapeFest starts celebrating early with food and wine pairings events

The 28th Annual GrapeFest: A Wine Experience — set for Sept. 11-14 in Historic Downtown Grapevine — will host a series of four pre-festival Gourmet Food & Wine Pairings prior to GrapeFest.

The series will feature food designed to specifically enhance the wine experience.

The details for the Gourmet Food & Wine Pairings are:

Sept. 4, 6:30 p.m.: Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center, Meritage Room, 1800 State Hwy. 26 E., featuring state of Washington wines, $65.

Sept. 8, 6:30 p.m.: Ferrari’s Italian Villa & Chop House, 1200 William D. Tate Ave., featuring Italian wines, $85.

Sept. 9, 6:30 p.m.: Chill Bar & Grill, 814 S. Main St., featuring Messina Hof Winery (cities of Bryan and Grapevine), $55.

Sept. 10, 6:30 p.m.: Gaylord Texan Resort, Old Hickory, Bacchus Room, 1501 Gaylord Trail, featuring wines from the state of Washington, $119.

One of Grapevine’s most popular annual events, The 28th Annual GrapeFest: A Wine Experience will feature the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic, the Champagne Terrace and GrapeStomp, among other favorites.

GrapeFest will open at 10 a.m. Sept. 11. Admission is free all day Thursday and until 5 p.m. on Friday.

Hours are: Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.; and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for seniors (62+) and children (6-12).

Weekend passes are available for $18 and souvenir weekend passes for $23.

Admission is free for children five and under.
