Forty-four years ago, I was hired by American Airlines and one of the benefits that both my family and I enjoyed was the ability to travel standby.

Through the years we followed the dress code and waitlist rules.

Now the new AA wants to change the status of retirees and put them at the end of the line for seating.

Next, we will probably have to have an “R” tattooed on our foreheads.

Where is the respect for loyal retirees?
