Northwest ISD

Labor Day Off

Northwest school district facilities will be closed Monday for Labor Day.

Northwest Supplies New Technology to Students

For the past five years, the Northwest school district has issued computing devices to its secondary students. For the first time, all middle and high school students have received district-issued Dell Latitude tablets. The Northwest school district also allows students to use their own personal electronic devices for educational purposes. Go to the district’s web site to learn more about rules and regulations for personal electronic devices.

Volunteer System Offers One-Stop-Shop to Stakeholders

Parents and other volunteers who plan to work with children in Northwest schools can use the new Northwest Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) system to pass a criminal background check prior to volunteering. The newly improved system includes background checks and captures complete volunteer interest profiles. This web-based, interactive contact center enables volunteers to update contact details, preferences and match volunteer opportunities to parents and the community. Access the volunteer system at the Northwest school district web site or find out more by contacting Phil Beckman, the NISD Partners in Education specialist, at (817) 215-0172.
