Cornerback Morris Claiborne believes he’ll be healthy enough to make his preseason debut against the Broncos on Thursday.

Claiborne has been sidelined with what has been described as an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder, but went through the Cowboys’ non-padded practice Monday.

“Everything went well,” Claiborne said. “Still was a little limited, but I went with the ones and felt good.”

Claiborne isn’t sure how many snaps he’ll get, but said he’s up for anything. He’ll take anywhere from “10 or 30.”

Claiborne said he still has some soreness in his shoulder, but not severe enough to limit him. He also showed an additional brace he is wearing for more protection.

“It’s better, definitely better,” Claiborne said. “I have more range of motion in it. I can reach up now. It’s getting better each and every day.”

Claiborne has had an injury-riddled career since being the sixth overall pick in 2012. He knows getting preseason action is important, especially in what appears to be a pivotal season in his career, but also said he’ll be ready for the season opener against San Francisco on Sept. 7 regardless.

“Even if I didn’t take a snap in the preseason, I feel like I’d be ready for the regular season,” Claiborne said.

In other injury news:

• Similar to Claiborne, defensive tackle Henry Melton went through practice Monday. Coach Jason Garrett felt Melton looked good and “fairly natural moving around.” Melton has yet to play in the preseason and Garrett wouldn’t say definitively if he would play Thursday.

• Defensive tackle Terrell McClain (high ankle sprain) wore a helmet as he went through his rehab exercises to try and re-acclimate himself to working with it. McClain is not expected to play Thursday, but is hoping to practice in pads at some point this week. If he does, he could be ready for the season opener. Said McClain: “I don’t know if I’ll be ready. They want me to come back 100 percent and not messing it up again and being out another month.”

• Running back Joseph Randle (strained oblique) did not practice Monday and is day to day. Garrett said Randle is expected to be ready for the opener at the latest.
