The Cowboys think enough of kicker Dan Bailey that they gave him a seven-year, $22.5 million contract in the offseason. For good reason.

Bailey has made 90.8 percent of his field goals in three seasons.

“I like to think that every time I go out there, I’m going to knock it through,” Bailey said. “I think that’s half the battle sometime is just being confident in yourself and being comfortable where you are on the field, whether it’s close in or far out or first quarter, fourth quarter, game-winner or not. I think you just have to kind of create a normal comfort level for yourself at all times.”

The Cowboys are confident enough in Bailey that they believe he can make it from anywhere, anytime.

On Saturday, he was true from 52 and 50 yards.

“It’s always good to get out there and get a longer opportunity to kind of get a little more comfortable with it heading into the season,” Bailey said. “It’s an opportunity to kind of get your feet under you a little bit.”

Bailey went 6-for-7 from 50-plus last season and is 11-of-16 in his career from beyond 49 yards.

“For me, it’s just another kick,” Bailey said of a 50-plus-yard kick.
