Tony Romo smirked when asked if getting sacked three times would force him to get more treatment for his back.

“I’m not really sure you can do more,” Romo said.

But Romo revealed that he did opt for an ice bath following Saturday’s game, something that has not been part of his normal routine. Has that changed?

“If I can find ice,” Romo said.

Romo took his first real shot of the preseason in the first quarter when Dolphins linebacker Olivier Vernon chased him down from behind and forced a fumble.

Romo was then sacked twice in the second quarter by Cameron Wake, who beat right tackle Doug Free each time.

Romo had no issues getting up from those blows and ended up playing the entire first half.

“I took some hits and that was good, just in regard to getting up and keep playing,” Romo said. “That part of it was positive. The hits, in general, hopefully we can avoid but it was good to get back up and keep going and see how I felt.”

Romo played the entire first half, going 10-for-18 for 87 yards. He led the Cowboys on two scoring drives that resulted in long field goals by Dan Bailey.

Romo took 32 snaps on the night, giving him a total of 46 for the preseason. He felt those are sufficient before the opener Sept. 7 against San Francisco and feels good about where the offense is at this point.

“I feel good. I feel very good,” he said. “I know we wanted to score more points than we did tonight, but you can take some good things away from it. Then we’ve got to correct a couple things that can change that pretty quickly. It’d be different if it was a different style or way it was happening, but I think the way it’s going, we’ve just got to execute a little bit better and I think we can and we have the ability to. So I think we’ll be good going forward.”
