MIAMI Cowboys defensive end George Selvie had his right shoulder wrapped in ice after Saturday’s game. It’s the same shoulder Selvie had surgically repaied in the offseason.

The Cowboys hope the two weeks they have until the season opener against the 49ers will be enough to get Selvie back on the field.

“We’ll need to watch that,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. “They didn’t think it’ll keep him out, but we’ll just have to watch it. It’s good we have two weeks on that one right there.”

The Cowboys played Saturday’s game without defensive tackle Terrell McClain (high ankle), defensive tackle Henry Melton (groin) and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence (foot surgery), three players who were expected to play a big role in their defensive line this season. Lawrence will miss three to six games while rehabbing, while the Cowboys hope for McClain and Melton to return full-go before the season opener.

Cornerback Morris Claiborne (shoulder) and tight end Gavin Escobar (shoulder) were among the other players the Cowboys scratched before the game.

Tight end Jordan Najvar, an undrafted rookie from Baylor, tore his Achilles’ near the end of the game.

“There’s no way to explain it, don’t know why and hate it for him,” Jones said.

Running back Joseph Randle (ribs) and receiver Dwayne Harris (hip/ankle) both said they are day to day. Running back Ryan Williams left in the final two minutes with cramps, and cornerback Justin Green aggravated his shoulder.
