• Join a free children’s story time at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the River Legacy Living Science Center. Also, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, join a Yoga in Nature class led by Nikki Harris. • Learn about reptiles this weekend at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge. At 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, kids can find out more about reptiles in the North Texas area, including common misconceptions about them. The class is $10 per child and includes admission to the refuge ($2-$5). Call to inquire about space in the class. At 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, join a naturalist on a hike to learn about four common reptiles and their habitats. Meet at the Hardwicke Interpretive Center. • Attend a required orientation session for the Parker County Master Gardener program, 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the AgriLife Extension office, 608 N. Main St., Weatherford. The fee for the eight-week program will be $130. For more information, call the extension office, 817-598-6168.

• Attend the first fall meeting of the North Texas Daylily Society, 7 p.m. Aug. 21, at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s Camellia Room. Nationally known hybridizer Tim Bell, of Sycamore, Ga., will talk about daylilies and auction some of his own. • Get your gardening questions answered with a call to the Tarrant County Master Gardener Association help desk, 817-884-1944. Call 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

• Johnson County Master Gardeners answer gardening questions and give horticultural advice 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays. Simply call the Johnson County Extension Office at 817-556-6370 and ask to speak to a master gardener.
