Kicking off football season at Fanfest

The eighth annual Fanfest drew a crowd to Vernon Newsom Stadium on Thursday evening to celebrate the kick-off of high school football season.

All five Mansfield ISD varsity high school football teams were introduced, while the drum lines from Legacy and Lake Ridge high schools, cheerleaders from Timberview and Mansfield high schools and the Sapphires drill team from Summit High performed.

The high school football season begins Aug. 28 with Legacy hosting Lovejoy and Aug. 29 with Mansfield at Flower Mound Marcus, Timberview hosting Ennis, Summit hosting Wichita Falls, and Lake Ridge at Cleburne. All games start at 7 p.m.
