Jerry Jones plans for the Cowboys to hold training camp in Oxnard for the foreseeable future, even after the team’s new facility opens.

The Cowboys’ contract with Frisco calls for one week of training camp to be held there every year, beginning in 2016. But that doesn’t preclude the Cowboys from returning to Oxnard, the team owner said.

"We’ll do both. We’ll be able to get both in," Jones said. "There’s real good time in a camp to have time here and to have time there. I’m talking preseason time. So we can make that work. As a matter of fact, it fits real good if you noodle it just right."

The Cowboys complete their ninth camp in Oxnard on Friday. The team is in the final year of a three-year contract, but it holds a three-year option. Jones said he anticipates a return in 2015 and beyond.

"The agreement we’re working off is a renewal off an existing agreement with maybe adjustment in there," he said. "We can make some more commitment, and maybe Oxnard can do some more proactive things. They have wanted to get more involved in this piece of property, where we do all our parking that they don’t own today. They own this area right here (practice fields), so more commitment would cause them to be able to do that from a firmer foundation."
