Not surprisingly, the Cowboys drew their biggest crowd of training camp. There was a big police presence as a spirited 8,326 fans, many of them wearing Raiders’ black and silver, cheered and taunted.

“We’re in California,” Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo said. “If they didn’t have any fans out here today it would have been probably not a good sign. I think that was great for the Raiders having that, and I thought it was great for us. It made the atmosphere that was pretty unique and something everyone should get to have in camp. It brings back some old memories of those Cowboys-Raiders moments.”

The Raiders stayed and signed autographs for their fans, who sat on the west side and were separated from Cowboys fans.

“That’s what Raider Nation is all about,” Raiders coach Dennis Allen said. “That was awesome to see so many fans come out and support us like that. It felt like, at times, I had to quiet the crowd down so we could get some plays off. It was a great atmosphere. It was great work against these guys.”
