A dangerous incident unfolded when the Cowboys’ defense and Raiders’ offense had an all-out brawl on the sidelines and within reach of Raiders fans during their joint practice Tuesday.

Cowboys cornerback B.W. Webb had a fan start an altercation with him. The fan took a couple shots at Webb and then swung a game-sized souvenir helmet at him. Webb went back at the fan twice before he was pulled away by coaches.

“It’s definitely a dangerous situation,” Webb said. “I don’t know why fans would want to jump on this side of the fence. I don’t think they’d like it too much on this side.

“I wasn’t expecting that, but whoever jumped on my back, I had to get them off.”

Webb said he doesn’t expect to hear anything from the NFL about his actions.

It was an intense practice that boiled over when Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne form tackled Raiders tight end Mychal Rivera during team drills.

Claiborne taunted the Raiders fans briefly and then found himself in a scuffle with Raiders receiver Greg Little. Every player came rushing in and the fight ensued in front of the fans.

“I saw it coming, but I ran over there to help my brothers out,” Webb said. “It might have turned a little worse over there, but emotions were up, intensity was up. I didn’t go over there with intentions to hurt anybody or anything like that.”

Webb went on to say that the encounter justified what he’d heard about Raiders fans.

“I hear they’re crazy, man,” Webb said. “You always hear about the Raiders’ fans, the Black Hole. They’re loud, they’re crazy. But you’ve just got to block them out ... or try to.”

Said Raiders owner Mark Davis: “Nothing better than Raider fans.”
