FORT WORTH — A gunman who opened fire on a group of people early Sunday in Fort Worth — injuring two — drove away, returned and was arrested, police said.Police identified the suspect as Andre Abbit, 25, of Arlington, who faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.Abbit is the boyfriend of a woman in the group who was not injured, police Cpl. Tracey Knight said Sunday in an email.A man was shot in the upper leg, and a woman was hit in the upper shoulder, police said. They were taken to local hospitals with injuries that are not life-threatening, police said.Investigators have not determined whether Abbit’s girlfriend was the target.Patrol officers answered a report of a shooting about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 7300 block of Edervill Road at the Valencia Palms Apartments in east Fort Worth.After the shooting, the gunman drove away but returned while officers were there. Witnesses told police he had returned, and officers pursued the vehicle.The armed suspect stopped at Ederville Road and Cooks Lane in Fort Worth but refused to get out of the vehicle and held police at bay for 40 minutes before he surrendered without incident.
