Cornerback Morris Claiborne went through the walkthrough Saturday morning and is expected to practice again this afternoon after sitting out Thursday’s preseason opener with a sore right knee.

In the walkthrough, he took reps with the second-team and shadowed Orlando Scandrick during the first-team drills.

Claiborne considers Scandrick one of his mentors even though both are battling for the starting cornerback job opposite Brandon Carr. He said that competition isn’t affecting him.

“I’m going out and playing football,” Claiborne said. “Football is my main focus. I don’t care who is on the depth chart, where they’re at, where I am right now. I’m happy with where I’m at. I’m happy with my work ethic.

“I don’t care who is in front of me or where they’re at, I don’t really care. My focus is on playing football. That’s where it’s at and that’s where it’s going to stay.”

Claiborne, the sixth overall pick in the 2012 draft, started 15 games his rookie season, but battled injuries and was limited to 10 games, including seven starts, last season.
