Arlington crash injures driver, splits car

A teen was seriously injured late Monday in Arlington when the car he was driving hit a gas meter and a pole, splitting the vehicle in half, police said.

The 18-year-old teen, whom police did not identify, was taken to Medical Center of Arlington where he remained Tuesday. His condition was unavailable.

Patrol officers drove up on the crash just before midnight Monday in the 3400 block of W. Sublett Road in Arlington.

The car was eastbound on Sublett Road when it veered off the street and hit the meter and pole, Arlington police said. Police did not release any information on what caused the crash.

Crews from Atmos and Oncor worked through the night to restore natural gas service and power to residents in the neighborhood..
