A 13-year-old boy died Saturday of injuries sustained in a wreck Friday on the Texas 360 frontage road at New York Avenue near the city’s border with Arlington.

Carson Parr died at 1:22 p.m. in an operating room at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website.

Police continue to investigate the wreck, which seriously injured Parr’s sister Allie Parr, 17, who was the driver. She and their mother, Teddi Parr, 39, were taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, police said. Teddi Parr’s injuries were not considered life threatening.

The wreck happened at about 1:20 p.m. Friday when an armored car southbound on South Watson Road struck a 1999 Honda Civic that witnesses say ran a red light. Carson Parr was ejected out a back window of the Honda, which spun into the center median, police said.

Neither occupant of the armored car was injured.

It was the 11th traffic fatality in Grand Prairie this year, police said.
