“Art Everywhere US” is billed as the world’s largest outdoor art show. Images of American artworks will appear on billboards, bus stops, digital display boards and subway platforms in New York City. The project kicks off Monday in New York’s Times Square and runs through Aug. 31. The 58 works, selected after a public online vote, include pieces by Edward Hopper, Winslow Homer and Mary Cassatt. The participating museums are the Dallas Museum of Art, as well as the Art Institute of Chicago, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, National Gallery of Art and Whitney Museum of American Art.

Fun fact

Mapping out lunch and dinner

The Appalachian Regional Commission has introduced an interactive map of 283 food destinations in West Virginia and 12 other states. You can search for locations from New York to Mississippi by keyword, state and type of destination (for example, farm-to-fork restaurants or craft breweries and spirits). The list includes restaurants, farmers markets, farms and even festivals and fairs. Twenty-one of them are in West Virginia. http://visitappalachia.com.
