Fort Worth Cats can’t break skid in Valley games

Rio Grande Valley built a four-run lead after three innings and sailed to a 7-1 victory over the Fort Worth Cats on Wednesday night. It was the Cats’ fifth straight loss in the WhiteWings’ stadium.

Ryan Bonnot, a former University of Houston pitcher, went six innings for the victory, allowing one run on seven hits and walking three.

Nick Thornton took the loss for Fort Worth. He was reached for 10 hits and five runs, four earned, in five innings.

Ryan Lashley, hitting .424 in 33 games, drove in the Cats’ run with a double in the fifth.
