Oklahoma picked to win Big 12

Oklahoma was picked to win its ninth conference championship in the Big 12 football preseason poll, voted on by media representatives who cover the league. TCU was picked to finish seventh and defending champion Baylor second.

The Sooners, who return 20 starters from last year’s 11-2 Sugar Bowl champion team, received 47 of 56 first-place votes.

Baylor received the other nine first-place. Kansas State, Texas and Oklahoma State round out the top five followed by Texas Tech, TCU, West Virginia, Iowa State and Kansas.
