Cynthia Allen has it wrong when she says that “we would be well-served to rediscover its value [religion] and return it to a place of significance in American democracy.”

Turning the clock back is not the answer. We are not solely a Christian nation; we are a multicultural, diverse and multi-religious state. We need to learn to co-exist with other religions and accept that we also have the right not to believe or worship.
