TCU junior outfielder Boomer White is transferring to Texas A&M.

In a message delivered on Twitter, White ( @boom42boom) said he has made the decision to transfer to Texas A&M for personal reasons.

“Baseball is baseball and I love it, but for me and my family, I see deeper into this decision to leave TCU,” White said via Twitter. “This decision has nothing to do with baseball. It was a personal decision that my family and I thought was best for me.”

In the previous season, which saw the Horned Frogs make their second College World Series appearance, White was second in batting average at .315, and led the team in hits (84) and RBIs (49).

White produced game-winning hits in the Fort Worth Regional against Siena in the 11th inning and against Sam Houston State in the 22nd inning. At the CWS, he had a game-winning hit against Texas Tech in the bottom of the eighth.

“We would like to thank Boomer and his family for their efforts during his time at TCU and wish him the best in all of his future endeavors,” TCU coach Jim Schlossnagle said in a statement issued by TCU.

White said in his statement on Twitter he enjoyed his time on campus.

“I’m excited to start this new journey in my life and see what God has in store for me,” he wrote. “Wherever I go I will always take the great TCU memories with me and never forget that glorious Omaha ride. Thanks for everything Horned Frog Nation.”
