Alex Bogomolov Jr. and the Texas Wild blew a lead in the final match of the night, but Bogomolov came through in a super tiebreaker to give the Wild a 17-16 victory on the road in World TeamTennis on Monday night against Western Division rivals Springfield Lasers.

Bogomolov lost to Michael Russell 5-1 in men’s singles, leaving the overall match tied at 16. However, Bogomolov won the seven-point super tiebreaker 7-5 to earn the one-game victory and keep the Wild (2-0) undefeated.

The Wild hosts the three-time defending World TeamTennis champion Washington Kastles at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the home opener at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas in Irving.

Texas took the early lead with 5-2 victories in men’s doubles by Bogomolov and Aisam Qureshi and women’s doubles by Darija Jurak and Anabel Medina Garrigues. However, Garrigues and Qureshi were swept in mixed doubles. Garrigues then picked up a 5-2 win in women’s singles to put Texas up 15-11 heading into the final segment of men’s singles.
