Fort Worth Cats pitcher locks down San Angelo

Pitcher Brandon Cowan went seven innings, striking out seven and allowing one run in the Fort Worth Cats’ 3-1 win over the San Angelo Colts (14-24) on Sunday at LaGrave Field.

In the second inning, Colts outfielder Eric Herman reached on an error by Cowan, allowing teammate Chris Grossman to score for a 1-0 lead.

The Cats (24-18) made it 1-1 in the fifth after Sam DiMatteo stole second and scored on Ryan Lashley’s double.

Michael Pair doubled in the sixth to score Calvin Culver for a 2-1 Cats lead. Edwin Gomez later sacrificed home a run to make it 3-1.
