Ansel Elgort, the 20-year-old young man who became a star with roles opposite Shailene Woodley in Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars, has been tapped to play one of Fort Worth’s most famous residents: Van Cliburn.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Elgort will star in a film based on the Howard Reich book Van Cliburn. He will portray Cliburn at the age of 23 which was when the musician won the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow.

Elgort can play the piano, says Deadline Hollywood. He is a graduate of New York’s LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts where he started out as a dancer.

No director was named but Andrew Stern ( Disconnect) will write the screenplay. As far as we know, Woodley is not taking a role.
