Longtime TCU assistant football coach Eddie Williamson has retired, according to multiple sources.Williamson had been at TCU since December 2000 where he served as offensive line coach until earlier this year. He was moved to a newly created staff position called director of player personnel of offense. Since 2002, Williamson had the title assistant head coach under Gary Patterson.Williamson coached 20 all-conference linemen since 2005, including three in the NFL — Marcus Cannon (Patriots), Marshall Newhouse (Packers) and James Dunbar, who signed a free agent contract with the Bears earlier this spring. He coached for 39 years.Williamson, 62, suffered a heart attack on the sidelines early in a game against San Diego State in November 2010 and was rushed to the hospital. He made a full recovery was back in the office four days later. He was back on sidelines for the the Frogs’ Rose Bowl win later that season.
