Fort Worth had to play catch-up on San Angelo all night, but the Cats’ late rally fell short as the Colts held on to win 12-7 on Tuesday at Foster Field in San Angelo.

The Colts jumped ahead quickly with a run in the first inning and five runs in the second. The Cats managed just two runs in the first six innings while San Angelo built a 9-2 lead before chasing Colts starter Jake Feckley in a five-run seventh that made it 9-7.

Third baseman Edwin Gomez led the Cats’ offense by going 3 for 3 with one RBI, two runs scored and a walk, and catcher Sean O’Connell also added an RBI and a run scored while going 2 for 4.
