There was no pausing during the Paws to Read Summer Reading Kickoff.

The Colleyville Public Library opened its summer reading program with games, crafts and other activities on Thursday.

Mayor Pro Tem Mike Taylor showed off the prize room where readers will visit throughout the summer to earn rewards for reading.

Taylor encouraged the many children in attendance to keep reading as it allows you to imagine being anything like a firefighter or superhero.

Attendees were treated to balloon dogs, cookies, crafts and a handful of games.
