FORT WORTH — “Wig Bandit II” is on a roll again.An woman in a short auburn wig hit banks twice this week in west Fort Worth, for a total of three holdups since May 22.“She’s very dangerous,” police spokeswoman Sharron Neal said Wednesday.Detectives don’t believe she’s the same woman known as Wig Bandit I, who hit four Fort Worth banks from Jan. 30 to May 1. That bandit wore long wigs. Neither bandit had a weapon, police said.The most recent holdup by Wig Bandit II was shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Fargo, 4533 Bellaire Drive S. She walked into the bank and stepped in front of a customer.“The suspect approached the teller, demanding money and advising she would harm her as well as everyone in the bank,” Neal said in a news release.The robber had a scar on the left side of her face and wore a tan sweater over a black blouse with an ankle-length skirt over bluejeans and tennis shoes. She wore a gray glove on her right hand and what looked like an Ace bandage on her left hand.Wig Bandit II may have an accomplice who cases a bank before she enters it, police said.Detectives said the robber has gotten into a silver sports utility vehicle or white Chevrolet/GMC SUV.She started the week by robbing Comerica Bank, 6388 Camp Bowie Blvd., on Monday. The same bank was targeted by Wig Bandit I earlier in the year. Authorities believe that Wig Bandit II robbed BBVA Compass, 5701 Camp Bowie Blvd., on May 22.Wig Bandit I is Anglo, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 tall, with a medium build and rough skin.A woman of her description robbed Comerica Bank, 4351 Western Center Blvd., on Feb. 5 and Chase Bank , 6700 W. Vickery Blvd., on Jan. 30. She wore what appeared to be a strawberry blond wig in the Chase robbery but a black-and-blond wig in the other.She also robbed two banks May 1: Comerica Bank, 6388 Camp Bowie Blvd., about 11:30 a.m. and an hour later, Woodhaven Bank, 6301 N. Beach St.At one of the robberies she was picked up by a black sedan, possibly a Geo Prizm, that appeared to be occupied by two men, police said.In both of the May 1 robberies, the woman wore a strawberry blond wig, dark sunglasses and a maxi dress with a short-sleeved sweater. She carried a small brown purse. She also had a bandage on the side of her face.
