Aledo baseball claims schools third state title of the school year

Aledo senior catcher Zayne Willems collcted a pair of hits and drove in three runs as the Bearcats beat Victoria East, 4-0, to claim the UIL Class 4A state baseball championship Friday at the Dell Diamond.

The Bearcats (34-6-2) cap an amazing school year for the Parker County community, with the Aledo softball team winning a state title last week and the football team claiming the 4A Division II championship in December.

Aledo pitcher Taco Anderson (9-2) limited Victoria East (30-10) to three hits while striking out four.
