TCU and Baylor dominated the first-team units on Phil Steele’s 2014 All-Big 12 preseason teams, released Thursday.

TCU placed a league-high four players on the first-team defense: defensive tackle Chucky Hunter, safety Sam Carter, safety Chris Hackett and defensive end Devonte Fields, an Arlington Martin graduate. Kickoff returner B.J. Catalon also received first-team acclaim for his special-teams efforts.

Baylor topped all schools with four members of the first-team offense: quarterback Bryce Petty, running back Shock Linwood, receiver Antwan Goodley and offensive tackle Spencer Drango. Bears’ punt returner Levi Norwood and linebacker Bryce Hager also earned first-team nods, giving Baylor more first-team honorees (6) than any school.

Oklahoma, expected to be the highest ranked Big 12 team in preseason polls, received four first-team mentions: kicker Michael Hunnicutt, linebacker Frank Shannon, linebacker Eric Striker and cornerback Zack Sanchez, a Keller Central graduate.

Texas’ first-team honorees were running back Malcolm Brown, defensive end Cedric Reed and cornerback Quandre Diggs. Texas Tech’s first-teamers were receiver Jakeem Grant and offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark
