Keller High School will get a new principal this summer, Michael Nasra, an administrator from the Humble school district.

Keller trustees unanimously approved Nasra at the May 29 board meeting.

“Dr. Nasra stood out based on his experience,” said Cecil McDaniel, chief administrative officer. “He’s not been a sitting principal, but he has experience from teaching all the way up through associate principal. He has left nothing but a positive trail and high results everywhere he has been, especially where the rubber meets the road in student achievement.”

Nasra will leave the associate principal role at Kingwood High School, a campus of 2,600 students, to take the Keller job.

McDaniel said Nasra is a great communicator and a transparent leader. “He will listen to the community and staff,” McDaniel said.

Nasra holds an executive doctorate of education degree in professional leadership from the University of Houston and is a graduate of the Rice University Jones School of Business Rice Education Entrepreneurship Program (REEP). He received a bachelor’s degree in business from Southwestern University in Georgetown.

Nasra will be the fifth principal at Keller High in the last decade. He replaces Jeff Bradley who was promoted from Keller High assistant principal in 2011.

McDaniel said he believes that Nasra will take time to make a positive impact at Keller. “He’s going to want to do this extremely well before he takes any other steps, and that’s going to take some time.”
