Sen. Cornyn wants to “get to the bottom” of the VA scandal.

I find it odd that both Cornyn and Sen. Cruz voted against a massive Veterans Affairs bill that would have built 27 Veterans Affairs regional clinics for routine medical care, saving the VA hospitals for inpatient healthcare.

The bill also provided a provision that gave educational assistance to spouses and children of fallen troops.

American Legion National Commander David N. Dellinger stated: “Today, the Senate had a chance to put aside partisan politics and do what was right for the men and women who have sacrificed so much while wearing our nation’s uniform. Instead, we saw the same political gamesmanship that led our federal government to a shutdown last fall. There was a right way to vote and a wrong way to vote today, and 41 senators chose the wrong way. That’s inexcusable.”

Why do senators play childish games with our troops and veterans as pawns?

Is bringing up the Veteran Administration backlog Cornyn’s way of distracting the reality that his actions effected thousands of current and future veterans?

I am a military mother and I demand an answer.
