The essay by Ecuadorian Ambassador Nathalie Cely (“Chevron leaves home and does a Texas two-step”) contends that Ecuador has a $9.5 billion unpaid judgment against Chevron.

What the ambassador fails to recognize is that the judgment in Ecuador was fraudulent and has been dropped.

Furthermore, a news release shows that Chevron won a $15 million lawsuit against the U.S. legal team involved in the conspiracy.

The general public is frequently exposed to distorted information about the oil industry, and Ambassador Cely’s comments are not based on fact.
